Rebuild Florida Hurricane Michael Housing Repair and Replacement Program


The Rebuild Florida Housing Repair & Replacement Program for Hurricane Michael is a partnership of FloridaCommerce and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) serving 12 panhandle counties for Florida’s long-term housing recovery efforts after the 2018 hurricane season.

This Program is a housing rehabilitation, reconstruction, or replacement program that prioritizes low-to-moderate income families impacted by Hurricane Michael in the following 12 counties: Holmes, Washington, Bay, Jackson, Calhoun, Gulf, Gadsden, Liberty, Franklin, Leon, Wakulla, and Taylor.

The Program opened for applications on January 29, 2021, and the application cycle closed as of June 30, 2021.


Eligible Counties


The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), along with the state of Florida, identified twelve Most Impacted and Distressed (MID) counties. In the aftermath of the storm, HUD identified nine MID counties. The state of Florida identified an additional three MID counties. Eligible counties included:

  • Jackson County (HUD)
  • Liberty County (HUD)
  • Wakulla County (HUD)
