For Military Spouses and Families

Frequent moves associated with the military lifestyle can make finding employment a challenge.  Whether your spouse is in a different state, or even a different country, you can receive workforce services through the Military Family Employment Advocacy Program in the area you reside. If you are getting ready to move and want to begin looking before you transfer, connect with a Military Family Employment Advocate in your new area.

Services:

By working with a Military Family Employment Advocate, you get valuable assistance from a person who understands the local job market and the needs of military spouses and dependents. A Military Family Employment Advocate is someone who truly understands the barriers that you face when searching for employment. Some advocates are co-located on military bases. These services are especially important resources if you are new to an area.

An advocate can also assist you with the following:

  • Resume writing
  • Preparing you for interviews
  • Supplying you with Labor Market Statistics
  • and helping you coordinate your job search to match local openings

Employment services can be accessed online at Employ Florida or at any career center in Florida. There are no charges for services at career centers. There are advocates located in seven Local Workforce Development Areas around the state near areas which have the highest density of active duty personnel.

Bring your current military I.D. card to verify your status as a military spouse.
