Aug 03, 2016

GULF BREEZE, Fla. – Today, Governor Rick Scott highlighted recent job growth at AppRiver, a global cybersecurity provider headquartered in Gulf Breeze. Over the past five years, AppRiver has created nearly 100 jobs for families in Gulf Breeze. The company currently employs more than 230 Floridians.

Governor Scott said, “I am proud to celebrate AppRiver’s recent growth and the creation of nearly 100 new jobs over the past five years. More than 230 Floridians have found great jobs thanks to AppRiver’s decision to invest in our state. Information technology companies like AppRiver are creating new opportunities for Floridians each day, which is why we will remain focused on cutting taxes and diversifying our economy to help these job creators grow.”

Founded in 2002, AppRiver offers businesses comprehensive, affordable subscription-based solutions that include cloud-based spam and virus protection, email encryption and Web security. To date, AppRiver’s team of security specialists have written 7.8 million antispam and antimalware rules, averaging 1,500 new rules per day, which shield customers from email and Web-based threats. The company protects more than 47,000 companies and 10 million mailboxes around the globe, and has satellite offices in Georgia, Texas, New York, Spain, and Switzerland. AppRiver has been included on Inc.’s 5000 Fastest Growing Private Companies in America list nine times in a row-the only IT services company in Florida to have done so.

Michael Murdoch, president and CEO of AppRiver, said, “AppRiver makes enterprise-grade security solutions accessible for businesses of all sizes. We are constantly innovating and welcoming new team members who support our mission to keep businesses protected and productive. We are grateful to Governor Scott for visiting our headquarters today to highlight our ongoing success and appreciate his work creating an environment that helps Florida-based companies like AppRiver grow.”

By keeping taxes low and supporting pro-business policies, we are making it easier for Florida businesses like AppRiver to grow. I look forward to seeing AppRiver continue to invest and grow in Florida.”

Representative Matt Gaetz said, “Thanks to our work to cut taxes and support job creators, AppRiver has provided job opportunities for more than 230 Floridians. I appreciate Governor Scott for coming to Gulf Breeze today to recognize AppRiver’s success and I look forward to continuing to work together to make Florida a leader in job growth.”
