Oct 20, 2016

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. – Today, Governor Rick Scott highlighted recent job growth at Herc Rentals, a full-service equipment-rental firm headquartered in Bonita Springs. Since 2014 when they relocated from New Jersey to Bonita Springs, Herc Rentals has created over 300 jobs for families in Florida. The company currently employs more than 450 Floridians. On June 30, 2016, Herc Rentals announced the completion of its separation from the Hertz Rental Car business and its debut as an independent, publicly traded corporation.

Governor Scott said, “I am proud to celebrate Herc Rentals recent growth and the creation of nearly 300 new jobs over the past two years. More than 450 Floridians have found great jobs thanks to Herc Rentals decision to invest in our state. I look forward to their continued success in Florida.”

With more than 50 years of equipment-rental expertise, about 4,700 employees and approximately 280 company-owned branches in the world, Herc Rentals serves a broad range of customer and user markets, including construction, industrial, government, infrastructure, remediation, emergency response, entertainment and events, facilities and maintenance. Herc Rentals continues to evolve and grow through technological innovations, expanded product offerings and value-added services and consultative solutions to support customer projects.

Larry Silber, CEO of Herc Rentals, said, “Under Governor Scott’s leadership, Florida is one of the fastest growing states in terms of jobs. That’s largely because Florida is a business and family friendly state that continues to attract companies and talent. We are glad to be part of the Bonita Springs community and look forward to opportunities to become more involved here and in Southwest Florida.”
