Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day

Today’s students are the future of Florida’s workforce and in order for Florida to have the nation’s top economy and be the best place to live and do business, we must ensure our state’s workforce is the best.

The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity invites you to celebrate 25 years of Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day with an interactive event at the Florida State Capitol. We encourage you to bring your daughters, sons, relatives, friends or other sponsored girls and boys ages 8-18 to the event. Here, they’ll learn about the importance of education, the top growing careers in Florida — particularly those in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) fields — as well as the impact they have on the future of Florida’s workforce.

Florida is very diverse with careers in a multitude of industries including tourism, agriculture, health, technology and business. By showing students this diversity and exposing them to different career paths, we are encouraging them to explore new challenges and pursue professional paths they may not have otherwise considered.
