TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Today, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity announced the West Palm Beach area March 2020 Employment Data. This month, Florida saw expected changes in employment and unemployment data due to COVID-19 and the state’s effort to mitigate the spread.
West Palm Beach Area Economic Indicators Include:
- Unemployment rate was 4.4 percent, up 1.1 percentage points from one year ago.
- Private-sector employment decreased by 200 jobs, less than 0.1 percent, over the past year.
- Industries with the highest growth over the year in the West Palm Beach area were
- government with 1,800 new jobs;
- leisure and hospitality with 1,600 new jobs; and
- construction with 1,200 new jobs.
