The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity Announces the Miami Area March 2020 Employment Data

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Today, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity announced the Miami area March 2020 Employment Data. This month, Florida saw expected changes in employment and unemployment data due to COVID-19 and the state’s effort to mitigate the spread.

 

Miami Area Economic Indicators Include:

  • Unemployment rate was 3.7 percent, up 0.9 percentage point from one year ago.
  • 11,300 new private-sector jobs have been added in the past year.
  • Industry with the highest growth over the year in the Miami area was
    • education and health services with 5,500 new jobs.
