The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity Announces the Jacksonville Area March 2020 Employment Data

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Today, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity announced the Jacksonville area March 2020 Employment Data. This month, Florida saw expected changes in employment and unemployment data due to COVID-19 and the state’s effort to mitigate the spread.

Jacksonville Area Economic Indicators Include:

  • Unemployment rate was 4.3 percent, up 1.1 percentage points from one year ago.
  • 14,200 new private-sector jobs have been added in the past year.
  • Industry with the highest growth over the year in the Jacksonville area was
  • professional and business services with 6,700 new jobs.
