E-Verify Compliance

DEO assists the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Florida’s Attorney General, the State Attorney, and the Statewide Prosecutor in their efforts to ensure compliance with E-Verify by maintaining and monitoring EVerifyCompliance@deo.myflorida.com, which allows citizens to report concerns about employers' non-compliance with laws governing employment eligibility. DEO actively reviews the citizen reports sent to the compliance email and forwards relevant reports to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Pursuant to § 448.095, F.S., statewide law enforcement agencies may refer private employers that are not in compliance with the provision to DEO. Upon receipt, DEO is required to request an affidavit of compliance from the employer, which the employer is required to provide within 30 days.
