Description: The Leadership for the Implementation of Veteran Services (LIVS) course focuses on gaining knowledge of Title 38 U.S.C 41 requirements, incentives awards, specifically the roles of Jobs for Veterans’ State Grants (JVSG) staff the roles of Local Veterans’ Employment Representatives (LVER) and Disabled Veterans’ Outreach Program (DVOP) staff based on refocusing efforts as well as understand the manager/leaders role in evaluating employ behavior and strategies for increased productivity.

Description: The training will cover legislation, laws, Labor Exchange Reporting System (LERS) (ETA 9002/VETS 200) reporting, performance and measurements, as well as fundingand financial requirements, outcomes and expectations. This will also demonstrate how to improve services consistent with negotiated outcomes.

Military Family Employment Advocacy Program Training 2014
Type of Training:  Onsite Train-the-Trainer Workshops
Location:  Room B-50, Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, Caldwell Building, 107 E. Madison Street, Tallahassee, Florida, 32399
Time:  Monday, December 3, 2014 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM EST and Tuesday, December 4, 2014 8:30 AM - 2:15 PM EST
Description:  The one and a half-day training session will focus on Enhancing the Employability of Military Spouses.

First day discussions will begin with a review of the program’s focus, the advocate’s role, performance indicators and performance reports.  There will be a short session on day one about maximizing LinkedIn as a networking tool by the program advocate from CareerSource Northeast Florida, Patricia Piazza.

The Program Coordinator, William Hyler will cover the basic tenets of (a) Motivational Interviewing Techniques (b) Power Posing and how to use this knowledge to help customers break away from dysfunctional thoughts that inhibit growth and positive movement during a job campaign.  

Train-the-Trainer instruction will be provided on day two by Bert Mitchell of CareerSource Capital Circle. His focus will be on fine tuning the functional and combination resume for the military spouse who moves frequently.  Mr. Mitchell will also work with the advocates on how to assist the spouses with proper body language, vocabulary usage, and mirroring techniques to increase their success during interviews.
