On April 29, 2009, the Florida Legislature passed Senate Bill 810, authorizing the Agency for Workforce Innovation to begin paying Extended Unemployment Compensation Benefits (EB) to people who have exhausted all other state and federal unemployment benefits and meet eligibility requirements.
Extended Benefits Program anticipated Timeline:
- Notices and applications – begin mailing on June 3, 2009.
- Payments – early July 2009 to December 2009
- Payments to initially consist of a retroactive “lump sum” to eligible claimants – early July 2009
