  • As of Tuesday, July 7, the request to modify the date of your claim must be made by calling the Reemployment Assistance Customer Service center at 1-833-FL-APPLY (1-833-352-7759 and choose option 5). You may be eligible to modify the date of your claim to the date you originally attempted to apply for Reemployment Assistance only if you were unable to file a claim between the weeks of March 9, 2020 to April 9, 2020.
  • DEO has launched a partnership with ID.me., a trusted technology partner helping to keep claimant’s personal information safe. This site is for claimants who are currently locked out of their CONNECT account due to suspected fraud. Individuals who received an email from DEO are invited to click the link provided to submit additional documentation to unlock their CONNECT account.
  • On a quarterly basis, pursuant to Federal guidance, DEO must determine if individuals who are currently receiving Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) or Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC) are ineligible for state Reemployment Assistance benefits. This routine task, often referred to as the Quarter Change, will determine if individuals could now be eligible for state Reemployment Assistance benefits.
  • Reminder: Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC), which includes an additional $600 weekly benefit for individuals who are eligible for state or federal Reemployment Assistance benefits, applies to weeks beginning March 29, 2020 and ending July 25, 2020.

Under the CARES Act, Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) is available for eligible applicants who are currently receiving regular state Reemployment Assistance benefits. FPUC is an additional $600 distributed weekly in addition to state Reemployment Assistance benefits. Due to the system upgrades in CONNECT, DEO is able to issue the additional $600 payments in multiple ways. If you are eligible and have previously provided a bank account in the CONNECT system, you will receive a direct deposit to your account. If you did not provide your bank account, you will receive a check to the mailing address provided on your account.


Disclaimer: The Paycheck Protection Program is a loan designed to provide a direct incentive for small businesses to keep their employees on the payroll during the COVID-19 pandemic. If your employer is participating in the Paycheck Protection Program, this may affect your eligibility for state or federal Reemployment Assistance programs.

Governor Ron DeSantis has directed the Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) to waive the work search, work registration and waiting week requirements for claimants through September 5, 2020.

  • Pursuant to federal law, claimants will be required to return to the CONNECT system every two weeks to request their benefits or “claim their weeks.” In doing so, claimants will confirm that they are still unemployed and acknowledge that you are able and available for work. Answers to work search questions are still required to process your claim in the CONNECT system but will not impact benefit payments.
  • By completing the is process, a claimant’s request for payment is submitted for their weeks of unemployment, even when the claim is pending for review. For weeks beginning May 10, 2020, you must claim your weeks in order to receive benefits. Claimants will be able to request a benefit payment for each week available.

Reemployment Assistance benefits, formerly known as unemployment compensation, can be filed online using CONNECT. If you have never filed in Florida before, use the “File a New Claim” link to start your application and create a profile. If you have filed previously, please log in using your Social Security number and PIN. If you no longer have your PIN, select the “Forgot PIN” button to regain access to your account.

Before filing, make sure you have the following information available:

  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license or State ID number
  • Your employment for the last 18 months including for each employer:
    • Name, address, and phone number
    • First and last day of work
    • Gross earnings (before taxes are taken out) during the listed dates
    • The reason for separation
    • FEIN (this is found on any W2 or 1099 tax forms you have received)
    • If you don’t have the FEIN, you can use employer details off of a recent paystub  
    • Claims filed without correctly reporting employers may experience delays. It is important to list the correct employment information when filing your claim. If you fail to do so, your benefits may be delayed while the missing employment information is obtained

Additionally, if you are one of the following, make sure you have this information available:

  • Not a U.S. citizen: Alien registration number or other work authorization form
  • Military employee: DD-214 member 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 may be used
  • Federal employee: SF 8 or SF 50
  • Union member: union name, hall number, and phone number

Once you complete your application, you will be required to complete the following:

  • Register for work through Employ FloridaSuspended through September 5, 2020
  • Review your monetary determination
  • Keep a record of your weekly job contacts and request benefits biweeklySuspended through September 5, 2020
  • Review your Home page in CONNECT to complete any open fact-findings and review any important messages on your account
