Providing Language Assistance for Limited English Proficiency Clients

This is a helpful reference document for all workforce service providers who provide services to individuals with limited English proficiency.

Language Access to Federal and Federally Assisted Programs

A clearinghouse of information, tools and technical assistance managed by the Federal Interagency Working Group on Limited English Proficiency.

Language Identification Cards

These cards read, "Mark this box if you read or speak English.” This statement is presented in 38 languages.

Interpretive Services Poster

This poster reads, "Attention. If you do not speak English, or if you are deaf, hard of hearing, or sight impaired, you can have interpretive and translation services provided at no charge. Please ask for assistance." This information is presented in 22 languages.

Note:  Federal regulations require that the Department of Economic Opportunity and its recipients of federal financial assistance provide interpretive and translation services at no charge.
