The Disability Program Navigator Initiative is designed to be flexible to fit many different environments across the nation. An Integrated Resource Team is one of many options a local CareerSource center may employ to increase support for a jobseeker with a disability.

If a job seeker presents with barriers to employment that can be better resolved through another agency, the Navigator will call on that agency or agencies to assist that job seeker. Some job seekers may already have other agencies that they work with in other aspects of their lives. Pulling together these resources to address the individual needs of a job seeker is an integrated resource team.

The U.S. Department of Labor served as the administrative entity for the Disability Program Navigator Initiative until 2010. The U.S. Department of Labor did not expect every Navigator or local area a Navigator covers to be able to engage in an Integrated Resource Team process.

Please see Frequently Asked Questions for more information on the Integrated Resource Team concept and guidance on the role of the Navigator where an Integrated Resource Team is feasible.
