Unemployment Compensation Program
Unemployment compensation (also called unemployment insurance) provides temporary wage replacement benefits to qualified individuals who are out of work through no fault of their own.
Disaster Unemployment Assistance
If you have been working or residing in an officially declared disaster area and are now unemployed as a result of the disaster, you may be eligible for Unemployment Compensation Benefits or Disaster Unemployment Assistance.
Short Time Compensation Information
Short Time Compensation is a special claims program that pays partial benefits to groups of employees working reduced hours. Employers may elect to participate in this program to retain valued employees by reducing hours for an entire group of employees instead of resorting to temporary layoffs.
Trade Readjustment Allowances
Trade-affected workers covered under a certified Trade Act petition who have been totally or partially separated from their jobs because of increase imports or a shift in production may be eligible to receive Trade Readjustment Allowances. Trade Readjustment Allowances provide assistance to workers who are looking for work or who are enrolled in an approved training program. Trade Readjustment Allowances is an extension of regular unemployment benefits payable at the same weekly benefit amount.
Unemployment Compensation for Ex-Service Members
The Unemployment Compensation for Ex-service Members (UCX) program provides benefits for eligible ex-military personnel. Former members of the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration and the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps are also covered under the UCX program.
If you were on active duty with a branch of the U.S. military and are now unemployed, you may be entitled to benefits. Compensation under the UCX program is paid by each state’s Employment Security agencies in accordance with agreements between the states and the U.S. Secretary of Labor. Claims are taken in accordance with the Florida Unemployment Compensation Law and Regulations.

Unemployment Compensation to Federal Civilian Employees
This program provides for the payment of unemployment compensation to unemployed former federal civilian employees. Compensation under the Unemployment Compensation to Federal Civilian Employees program is paid by state employment security agencies in accordance with agreements between the states and the U.S. Secretary of Labor.
