TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, Governor Rick Scott announced Florida’s number of job openings in November were at the highest level in a decade, with a total of nearly 300,000 job openings across the state, according to Help Wanted OnLine.

Governor Rick Scott said, “I am proud to announce that the number of job openings in Florida is at its highest level in a decade. We are working to cut $1 billion in taxes and create the new Florida Enterprise Fund this year to help small businesses and diversify our economy in order to grow even more jobs. Florida is leading all large states in job growth and we will keep working every day to be first for jobs.”

Job demand in Florida increased by 19,272 openings in November to 299,530, an increase of 6.9 percent, while national growth only increased by 4.3 percent last month.

Florida Department of Economic Opportunity Executive Director Jesse Panuccio said, “Another month, another record for Florida’s resurgent economy, with job openings at an all-time high. Businesses in Florida are growing, families are back to work, and it’s a great time to be living and working in the Sunshine State.”

The top occupation in demand continues to be registered nurses. Job demand was highest in the large metro cities, including Miami, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, and Fort Lauderdale.
