Gov. Rick Scott Announces Advanced Components International is Creating 42 New Jobs in Ft. Myers

Sep 09, 2015

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Today, Governor Rick Scott announced Advanced Components International LLC is expanding its manufacturing operations in Ft. Myers and creating 42 new jobs. The company is also expected to make a capital investment of $11.9 million into the community. ACI is a leader in the aerospace industry, developing parts and components for next generation commercial aircrafts.

Governor Scott said, “I’m proud to announce Advanced Components International is expanding in Ft. Myers and creating 42 new jobs for families. Companies like Advanced Components are choosing to expand in Florida because of the great business climate we have created. Enterprise Florida has been instrumental in bringing companies like Advanced Components to Florida, and we must fully fund EFI so they can continue to bring more companies to our state that will create jobs.”

ACI is a subsidiary of Techspace Aero S.A, a Safran group company. ACI has been in Lee County since 2010. Additionally, Safran affiliates employ more than 300 in the state of Florida. The company is now located off Jetport Loop near Southwest Florida International Airport and will expand into an existing facility near Gateway.

“As ACI acquired more engine orders, we realized that we would quickly outgrow our current facility,” noted Brad Cline, General Manager of ACI. “We evaluated several potential locations throughout Florida and even out of state, but ultimately chose to stay in Lee County in order to retain our current talent and skilled workforce, utilizing local resources to bring in new employees as well.”

“The manufacturing sector is thriving in Lee County,” said Glen Salyer, acting director of Lee County’s Economic Development Office. “When one of our manufacturers decides to expand as ACI is doing, it highlights a little known industry in Southwest Florida and signals to other companies that Lee County is a place where they can be successful. We applaud ACI's decision to invest millions of dollars in a facility and create new jobs locally."

Enterprise Florida President & CEO Bill Johnson said, “Advanced Components is a great example of a company that is helping diversify our economy in Florida. By creating 42 new jobs and expanding opportunities, they are strengthening our economy. We will continue to work with our partners to ensure our toolkit is fully funded so that we can keep bringing companies like Advanced Components to Florida.”

Department of Economic Opportunity Executive Director Jesse Panuccio said, “With ACI’s expansion, Florida and Fort Myers continue to see growth in the manufacturing sector. The Scott Administration will continue to support pro-growth policies that foster these positive developments.”

The Economic Development Office was created to help expand and diversify Lee County's economy. In addition to providing site selection assistance, customized research, financial incentives and many other resources, the EDO works closely with a regional network of economic development partners to make companies and site selection professionals more successful in Southwest Florida's dynamic business environment.
