Providers
Early learning professionals must have knowledge and experience in child development and appropriate learning environments. They must also be responsive to children’s needs, understand the significance of building and enhancing early learning experiences, provide choices -not limitations- willingly engage with children and follow children’s natural interest.
Because we are committed to ensuring that children are ready to learn, we salute Florida’s early learning directors, teachers and staff who work with children and families day in and day out. The importance of your work is immeasurable.

Voluntary Prekindergarten
Provider Credentials
The private provider must hold the Florida Director Credential, be licensed (child care, family child care home, or large family child care home) or exempt from licensure (private school or faith-based provider) and meet one of the following:
- Be recognized by an approved child care accrediting association, or
- Be licensed and demonstrate that the provider meets additional program requirements
