Rebuild Florida Hurricane Michael General Infrastructure Repair Program


The Rebuild Florida General Infrastructure Repair Program is designed to provide funding for local governments to carry out strategic and high-impact activities to rebuild and harden infrastructure to prevent or reduce losses in future disasters.

Eligible Areas

Local governments within the 12 counties that are designated by the state of Florida and the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as being Most Impacted and Distressed (MID) are eligible to submit applications.

Eligible Activities

  • Restoration of infrastructure damaged by Hurricane Michael.
  • Removal of debris and other damage.
  • Water and sewer facilities.
  • Repair to public facilities such as emergency community shelters.
  • Demolition, rehabilitation of publicly or privately owned commercial or industrial buildings.
  • Renourishment of dunes and/or dune restoration.
  • Economic revitalization which includes any Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) eligible activity that demonstrably restores and improves some aspect of the local economy.

The Application Cycle for Round 2 of Funding through the Rebuild Florida General Infrastructure Repair Program for Hurricane Michael closed at 5:00 p.m. on September 17, 2021. The Florida Department of Commerce (FloridaCommerce) is currently in the process of scoring submitted applications.

Rebuild Florida General Infrastructure Repair Program for Hurricane Michael Funding Round 1


The application cycle for Round 1 of funding through the Rebuild Florida General Infrastructure Repair Program for Hurricane Michael closed on November 30, 2020. On May 6, 2021, the award announcement for 22 communities receiving Round 1 funding was made.

  • February 11, 2022: Governor Ron DeSantis makes more than $91 million award announcement for Michael-impacted communities.
  • October 10, 2022: Governor Ron DeSantis makes $126 million award announcement for Northwest Florida.
