Rebuild Florida Hurricane Michael Hometown Revitalization Program

The Rebuild Florida Hometown Revitalization Program is designed to support the recovery of economic activity in commercial areas of Hurricane Michael-impacted communities, facilitating the return and recovery of businesses, jobs, and provision of goods and services to the area.

How to Apply

The application cycle is now closed.

Eligibility

Local governments, state agencies, Community Revitalization Agencies, Community Development Districts, and non-profits within the 12 state and United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) designated Most Impacted and Distressed (MID) counties are eligible to submit applications.

Eligible Activities

• Public facility improvements, including streetscapes, lighting, sidewalks, and other physical improvements to commercial areas
• Acquisition, demolition, site preparation, or rehabilitation of commercial structures carried out by a unit of local government
• Assistance to small businesses for rehabilitation and physical improvements to their places of business
• Façade improvements to private or public structures in commercial area

Program Timeline

• November 18, 2020: Application submission cycle opens.
• December 3, 2020: FloridaCommerce hosts webinar to provide more information about the program.
• February 16, 2021: Application submission cycle closes at 5:00 p.m. EST.
• April 16, 2021: Extended deadline to submit applications.
• August 4, 2021: Award announcement for Hometown Revitalization Program.
